Community

Each class day, we gather together as a school for prayer in the morning. At lunchtime, all students eat together outside every day that weather permits. Parents and teachers can chat casually about the school day outside after school. Children of all ages at Annunciation Austin interact and support each other.

Other ways we come together as a community include:

  • Monthly School Mass
  • Parent Teacher Council Meetings
  • Retreats and Other Events at the Shrine
  • Spring Gala
  • End-of-Semester Parties

Spirituality

Our students and their families are active members of their home parishes throughout the Austin area. Schoenstatt families started Annunciation Austin in 2003. Learn more about the Schoenstatt Movement of Austin here.

School Masses

Each month, we gather as a community to celebrate mass officiated by one of the Schoenstatt Fathers. Students participate in the mass as lectors, altar servers and choir members. Parents are always invited to attend mass with their children.

Our Schoenstatt Father also offers the Sacrament of Reconciliation before each monthly mass. Most masses are held at St. Thomas More, except for Fall and Spring retreat days at the Shrine which include mass.

Service

Loving God by serving others is a recurring theme in our curriculum. Students participate in service projects twice a year at the Schoenstatt Shrine. Many students and families are actively involved in their home parishes.

Parent Teacher Council

The Parent Teacher Council, which is the governing body for Annunciation Austin, holds regular meetings to handle program and community business. The PTC is made up of representatives from every family. The executive board consists of our Director of Education, our Schoenstatt Father, as well as a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. These latter positions are nominated and elected by PTC members each year.
