Annunciation Austin students can choose to participate in PSIA (Private School Interscholastic Association) events. PSIA is a private-school version of UIL academic competitions, with 19 different events. Families who want to participate help fund the registration fees to attend the district competition, where students can qualify for the state competition by placing first or second in an event. In 2012, two Annunciation Austin students place in the top 6 at state. In 2013, six students advanced to the state competition in 12 different events. In 2015, four students advanced to the upcoming state competition in 5 different events.
Other Field Trips
Because all of our students are simultaneously studying the same units in history and literature, many parents like to enrich the learning through hands-on activities and field trips in Austin and the surrounding area. Sometimes, the entire school or certain classes organize and participate in field trips; other times, parents organize these trips and invite other students and families to join them.
